Hyper V Import Virtual Machine

There is separate default folders for Virtual Machines and Virtual Hard Disks

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V

This folder contains all settings for each Virtual machines.

Have you changed that folder?

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks

This folder contains only virtual disks. On your case it's changed to E:\HyperV\...

When you want import VM you need to search it from that first location.

You can check this location from Hyper-V settings.

If you can't import existing VM's you can create 3 new Virtual Machines.

When creating those select option Use existing Virtual Disk and point disks from E:\HyperV\...

The folder where your VM is do you see a .vhd file?

Hyper V Import Virtual Machine

Hello. Can you please advise me? I have just installed WIndows Server 2016 on a new Dell Server. I have also added Three Hyper V machines and the settings to the Hyper V machines are in E:\HyperV\ Now in explorer I can see E:\HyperV\LeyMacMySQL\Virtual Hard
Disks\LeyMacMySQL.vhdx The file size is 26.8GB and the Attributes are A and in Availability it shoes Available offline. Now when I go to Import Virtual Machine, I navigate to the folder and it says No Items match your search and I can not see the file there.
I can however make a new Virtual Machine by using this file, but why can I not see it to Import it back?
