HYPER-V Exclusive mode -- stop Host messages appearing on VM

    Hi there

Is it possible to stop messages from the HOST being sent to the VM when using HYPER-V and VM on same LOCAL machine -- i.e possible to "emulate" VMWARE's "Exclusive mode" where a user can be prevented from switching out of full screen and back to Host system. User should only be able to access the VM and not even be aware that it is a VM.

Note -- of course the user should be able to log out of the VM on his own computer !!! He just shouldn't be able to see the Host windows the VM is running on. I don't want to go to the hassle of trying to set up a VPN which will work that way --grossly overkill for what I need here at the moment.

I've had a couple of messages appearing on a VM (Windows defender saying Scan is OK) on the VM --even though I'm running a LINUX VM !!!.

Is there something in the VM config I've missed.

Logging on to the VM via RDP from a remote laptop (on the same LAN though) I don't get the messages.

(XRDP / KRDP / VNC applications run on the VM - RDP connects to it just the same as Windows - no change to RDP needed on the host).

    Cheers
    jimbo

    :)

Remote Desktop Connection problem with Virtual Machine

We made the big mistake of configuring a WINDOWS-10 VM to allow for Remote Desktop Connections. We are unable to disassociate the VM from RDM. We can no longer access the VM!!! The following is the pertinenet
    information:

    • Server is running Windows-10 Professional 64 with Hyper-V installed.
    • VM is Windows-10 Professional 64.
    • In VM allowed Remote Desktop Connections.
    • From server successfully connected to VM via RDM.
    • Closed RDM connection. Unable to access VM.
    • Turned off VM from Hyper-V Manager.
    • Attempted to restart VM, unable to connect via Hyper-V from message box the following is displayed:

Video Remoting was disconnected. The virtual maching is currently using the Remote X 3D video adapter. A user is currently connected via Remote Desktop Connect to the virtual machine by using Remote Desktop Connection.
    • Connected via Remote Desktop Connection. Attempted to turn off allowing Remote Desktop Connection. VM hung.
    • VM Wouldn't turn off via Hyper-V manager.
    • Shutdown host system and rebooted.
    • Unable to connect via console or RDM.
    • Shutdown host system and rebooted.
    • Deleted VM via Hyper-V Manager.
    • Restored VM system disk from backup prior to RDM usage.
    • Created new VM. the messages in itm 7 above are displayed.
What can be done to recover? Why does Hyper-V retain a broken connection?

Win10 Hyper-V Connect... no options for audio, etc

I have setup Hyper-V and have a VM that runs. I have enabled Enhanced Session on both server and client. When I slect the VM in Hyper-V Manager, R-click, and select Connect... I am expecting a dialog to allow setting up things like passthrough of hosts audio
devices. I do not get any connect options box. It just starts the VM Connection and no box appears.

How can I get at these connect options?
