    Hyper-V host can't communicate with its guests


    Hi - I've configured Hyper-V on a Windows Server 2022 Standard system the 'host'. I've create a Windows guest and a SLES 15 guest. The host and both of the guests can access the Internet. Both guests can access each other. But the guests can not access/ping the host, and the host can not ping the guests. Both guests are configured to use the default Hyper-V virtual switch, which is an 'external' switch. The host and guest systems are not running a firewall.None of the Hyper-V documentation that I've found describe this issue. I've done some Google'ing, and find many references to this issue

    Read Smart Card from Hyper-V Guest

    We are using Windows 10 as a Hyper-V guest, and have Windows 10 as a Hyper-V Guest.

    There is a standard Smart Card reader attached to the physical host(omnikey card reader) , but we can not get the smart card to be read from the Hyper-V Guest.

    Does anybody have any experience or success with such a configuration?

    We have updated driver on both host and guest, still can not get the smart card to be read from the guest.

    Transferring files from a host OS to a guest OS in Hyper-V can be done through multiple ways. You may want to refer
    to the suggestion by H Shakir on the thread
    How to setup files and
    folders sharing between Hyper-V host and guest operating system     and see if it helps.



    However, if you have further queries regarding the same, I would suggest you to post your query in the
    TechNet Forums, where we have support professionals well equipped with the
    knowledge on Hyper-V.

    come on guys.. no ideas? [emoji15]

    could it be an issue with 32bit XP on 64 bit Windows 7 vm maybe?


    Configuration again:
    Host (physical) : Windows 10 Pro
    ---> Hyper-V Guest : Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    Trying to run XPMode within the Windows 7 guest.
