  1. Hyper V issues with ISO on DVD or USB

Installed HYper V, set it as active. Hyper V will start a Virtual file but attempting to get the ISO media read is not working. What i did was choose local device for files and selected either dvd or usb device and as per attached screenshots no iso media available. The view of dvd or usb media thru Hyper V doesn't show setup file, not certain iso creation or usb files are bootable.Assistance with this problem will be appreciated.

    :)

  2. Hyper V deativication

    Hi Geoffrey,

Hyper-V lets you run an operating system or computer system as a virtual machine on Windows. Before proceeding in disabling
Hyper-V, please create a backup of your files for security purposes.

To disable Hyper-V, please follow the steps below:

    • On the Cortana search box, type Turn Windows Features on or off and press
      Enter.
    • Look for the Hyper-V folder.
    • Uncheck the tick-box next to the main Hyper-V folder and click
      OK.
    • Restart your PC.

Should you have further questions, please let us know.

Windows 10 1709 Hyper-V cannot use "Insert Disk" to mount ISO file

I have exactly the same issue with my Windows installation.

I have been running Windows v1703 with Hyper-V for ages and the option to insert DVD ISO media has always worked.

I upgraded last night to v1709 (16299.64) and this morning the option to insert a DVD ISO is not working exactly as the OP describes.

However, I have a connection to a remote Hyper-V server from my v1709 build and it does work on that.

    So it's clearly a local Hyper-V issue.

Strange Error mounting an iso on an external drive in Hyper-V: I got this rather odd error message when trying to mount an iso from an external drive using Hyper-V.
