Windows 10: Hyper-V Manager failed to change state

I issued something seems to be a bug.I am running Linux virtual machine Ubuntu 20.04, and I got kernel-panic inside the machine literally called panic function.When I Power the machine off virtually, by the manager everything happen just fine.The problem happens when I try to shut sown the machine. The Shut-Down button doesn't work, and when I press the Turn-Off I get an error like "Ubuntu 20.04" failed to change state. The operation cannot be performed while the object is in the current state." When I try to use Stop-VM PowerShell command, I get the same error.Only after restarting the

Where is the Hyper V Manager, How to I start it ?

I am trying to setup an XP virtual Machine on Windows 10 Pro.

I followed the steps in Neil Peterson article of 5/9/2016.

System Requirements - done - ok

Install Hyper-V - done - ok

Create a Virtual Switch - skip

Create a Virtual Machine

Create a Virtual Machine with Hyper-V Manager

These steps walk through how to manually create a virtual machine and deploy an operating system to this virtual machine.

Uhhhhhhhhh - this step obviously implies one knows

Isn't that odd ?

 

Hyper-V Fails to Install on Windows 10 v.1909

Like the title says, Hyper-V fails to install on Windows 10 v.1909. [OS build 18363.592] It's a mystery to me, because I successfully installed and used Hyper-V on earlier versions of Windows.

Yes, I've got the necessary hardware and BIOS support (I successfully installed and used Hyper-V on earlier versions of Windows) and there are no other hypervisors currently installed. I disabled my anti-malware software (the same brand that I was using when I previously installed Hyper-V) and added the feature from an Administrators user account.

This may be a clue: Event Viewer only has one entry made at the time I tried to install Hyper-V, but it makes no sense (to me.) It's a 7043 Service Control Manager event that says the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Manager did not close following a pre-shutdown command, but I don't even have Hyper-V Virtual Machine Manager listed as a service.

If it matters (doubt it) the install failed at 98% and, of course, Windows rolled back any changes.

I'm open to any suggestions as to what I can try to get Hyper-V to install. Thanks for your help.

 

Moving Hyper-V to Another Disk

1. Export the virtual machines to the drive where you want to move them (tutorial).
2. When all VMs have been exported, delete them in Hyper-V Manager.
3. When Hyper-V Manager is empty, not showing any VMs, import the previously exported VMs (tutorial). In Option One Step 6 of the tutorial, you need to select Register the virtual machine in-place, or if choosing Option Two in tutorial, select Step 2.
