    Hyper V Not Reading ISO Image When Creating New VM's


    Short DescriptionI can't get a newly created Gen 2 VM using defaults and TPM selections to read an ISO image from a USB drive. I used the MS ISO image creation site to make the ISO image on the USB. The error message is attached/inserted.Long DescriptionI do already have 2 VM's on the same machine working/running. It was battle over several weeks of trying, tweaking and crossing fingers. Then for some reason the image would load and off we go. So I know the system works, the image works, I just can't get it to reliably work and can't invest a few weeks to triage every time I try to spin up a n

    Thanks for the reply,

    The Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual hard disks is where the VMs .vhd file is located.

    I'm looking for the Ubuntu .iso file that the Hyper-V 'quick create' downloads and uses to build the VM.

    Hyper-V PowerShell module fails to create new vm

    I have a problem with Hyper-V PowerShell module, it fails to create a New-VM on my machine.

    It worked fine until I had to reinstall Hyper-V feature in Windows 10.

    Since then cannot create VM with powershell cmdlets, creating a VM in GUI works

    I receive the following error

    New-VM : Hyper-V encountered an error trying to access an object on computer ...... because the object was not

    found. The object might have been deleted, or you might not have permission to perform the task. Verify that the

    Virtual Machine Management service on the computer is running. If the service is running, try to perform the task again

    by using Run as Administrator.

    I am the Administrator on local PC, and I checked Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service, and it is in a running state.

    Tried to rebuild MOF file

    MOFCOMP %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsVirtualization.V2.mof

    also tried to uninstall Hyper-V feature and reinstall it with powershell, and still no success.

    Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V

    Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V -All

    Any other ideas?

    I have Windows 10 Pro, version 1709

    Hyper V Not Reading ISO Image When Creating New VM's

    Hyper-V does not boot ISO image, but VMWare Player does

    I have Win 10 pro with Hyper-V. I have created a new Generation 1 and Generation 2 VM and point the ISO image to boot. On connecting and starting either of the VMs (only 1 at a time), the only thing i see is Connecting to Yogesh-Linux (which is the name
    of my VM). It does not go any further. I installed VMWare player and disabled Credential Guard as required by it and created a new VM pointing to the same ISO image. VMWare player was able to boot the image and complete the install of the Ubuntu Linux.
