    Hyper-V problem with starting a VM (Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit .1607)

    Hello,

i've been experiencing problems with Hyper-V since last weeks thursday (09-03-2017, DD-MM-YYYY) trying to run it on Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit (up to date) with Hyper-V enabled.

For some reason Hyper-V doesn't want to start any VM from my Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit .1607 ISO.

Tried it on the same system using VirtualBox to check if the ISO wasn't the dealbreaker and it was no problem running it in there. (removed VirtualBox afterwards, I'm aware of the conflicts between Hyper-V and VirtualBox)

It doesn't matter if I choose the VM to be a "Gen 1" or "Gen 2" VM, neither of them manage to start when I press the "Start" button.

The error I'm receiving isn't detailed in any way, the only thing I get is: "Can't start <VM Name>". The logs don't tell me much info either. (Beware, they're in Dutch)

Hyper-V-Compute operational log (looks fine to me, no errors):

I tried a ton of things including disabling applications that might conflict (Windows Defender, Firewall) and checking BIOS settings numerous times but I can't seem to find the problem for something that's meant to work out of the box (in my opinion).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

Windows 10 Enterprise - PCs unable to join the domain using Task Sequence (Potential issue is Hyper-V?)

    Hi All,

Reaching out for assistance on an issue that has been ongoing for the past 4 months.

    Infrastructure:

    Windows 10 Enterprise 1607 CBB

    Config Manager 1602

    OSD using MDT latest version

Issue: Windows 10 Image Task Sequence will work on any new PCs or existing PCs that had previous Windows 7 image loaded. On PCs that we have already imaged with the Windows 10 Image Task sequence, and we are re-imaging again, the PC fails to join the domain.
We are using an answer file to join the domain.

    Earlier Troubleshooting:

The logs for the failed domain join systems all say the same thing...relating to time Sync, but this is not the issue. The image in all the other scenarios work just fine, it's only re-images on the WIn10 Task Sequence that does not work.

We are now looking into Hyper-V potentially causing the issue. We have BIOS settings to enable Virtualization and also enable in the WIM the Hyper V settings in the 1607 image. However we created the WIM using a VM, and the Hyper-V Hypervisor does not get
enabled if the WIM is created using a VM. We also tested creating the WIM with a Physical PC and confirmed that both Hyper-V Hypervisor and Hyper V services are enabled, however this still did not fix the issue.

Is anyone experiencing issues like this regarding PCs joining the domain for Windows 10 1607 build in the enterprise using OSD?

    Thanks

    Hyper-V on Windows Home Edition?

In my "Services (Local)", the following are listed:

    Hyper-V Data Exchange Service

    Hyper-V Guest Service Interface

    Hyper-V Guest Shutdown Service

    Hyper-V Heartbeat Service

    Hyper-V Remote Desktop Virtualization Service

    Hyper-V Time Synchronization Service

    Hyper-V VM Session Service

    Hyper-V Volume Shadow Copy Requestor

Since Hyper V isn't supposed to be on Windows 10 Home, I'm wondering what's going on and why it is in my Services. Are there any other services which would appear in Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise or Education that shouldn't appear in Windows 10 Home Services?

    Thanks!

    Hyper-V problem with starting a VM (Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit .1607)

    Topic can be closed.

Found the problem to be a conflict between the Anniversary update and DeviceLocker being installed as a policy by my company.
