    So, I have an odd behaviour.The server is recent, with an iSCSI SAN SSD disksWindows guests work fine, with disk access latency under 1 msLinux guests have a very large latency, aroud 62 ms.sustained data transfer rate is good.To check for guests configuration, I exported a guest that works flawlessly on another, much older HYper-V host, and it show large latency too.The odd behaviour is that the latency is very reproducible, at 62 ms, with a second less frequent mode at around 1 ms, and some scattered results.     How to get a Linux guest to work with Windows 10 Pro Hyper-V

    I've got Hyper-V running on my Win10 Pro computer and am having trouble getting a Linux client to run. It will install fine, but keeps telling me that it's running in software emulation mode and not using the actual GPU. Here are my questions:

    Does Linux need to be installed as a Gen 1 or 2 installation?

    Can guest additions be installed or will it be permanently grayed out?

    Are there certain Linux distros that work better than others in Hyper-V?

    I have been using Virtualbox for the longest time and quite happy with it. That being said, I have a new job and need to learn the Microsoft way of virtualization as they use Hyper-V and Server 2008 or 2012. Yes I will be installing the trial versions of
    those two to learn them also.

    Hi, lenfant3 follow these steps

    1. In Hyper-V Manager, choose the VM and then "Settings". Click on the Integration Services option and ensure “Operating System Shutdown” is enabled.
    2. Choose "Automatic Stop Action" option under Management.
    3. Choose "Shut down the guest operating system".
