Windows 10: Hyper-V Virtual Machine does not have internet access

Hi all,

I recently created a VM for some basic testing purposes and wanted it to use my laptop's internet access.

To that end I configured the VM with a "Default" Hyper-V network switch but it is still unable to access the Internet.

I read a bunch of posts but didn't find or recognize anything that solved it for me.

I did restart Internet Connection Sharing service, which didn't do anything.

Happy to provide any screenshots/logs/additional info.

I checked for updates (just using the Windows update applet) and the current setup is below:
Windows Version: 10.0.18363.778
Hyper-V Manager Version: 10.0.18362.1

Hyper-V, VM, Virtual Machine

You will have to ensure the Virtual Machine is running and connected to the Internet.

This means the physical host, the machine itself must be connected.

The folder where your VM is do you see a .vhd file?

Issues with Hyper-V Virtual Machines

Hi all,

I'm running Ubuntu 19.04 in a Hyper-V Virtual Machine. It's configured to use Hyper-V's "Default Switch" network adapter, but for some reason, the VM doesn't seem to get internet access. My computer is connected to the Internet (both through Wi-Fi and Ethernet).
I've tried creating another virtual switch and linking it to my physical network card, and that gives the VM internet access, but then my computer's internet connection becomes much slower. I've also tried reinstalling Hyper-V. The Default Switch has been
working perfectly in the past; this is a recent issue.

I'd also like to note that Windows Sandbox doesn't connect to the Internet either.
