    Hyper-V VM Internet/Ethernet Connection Issues


    Everyone, I currently have a Windows 11 Pro machine in which Hyper-V is being used to create a Windows 10 Home virtual machine. While the creation of the virtual machine was successful, I am having issues in two key areas: A: I cannot ping from the virtual machine to a device connected on the ethernet port. B: I cannot use the internet connection wireless on my virtual machine. When I attempt to set up an external virtual switch and select my Wifi device, I get the following error: "Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections. failed: Cannot create a file when that file alread

    No Internet in Hyper-V VM's

    Hi, I have Windows 10 Enterprise and just added Hyper-V. I had 3 VM's on VMware Player and deleted and uninstalled Player. I have 3 Vm's on Hyper-V. My problem is I get no Internet on my Vm's. I am new to Hyper-V and would like to know how to connect these
    to the internet. I have "Virtual switch (automatic)" selected. They show no connections available in the VM's. How do I connect to the internet? (I'm on wifi.) I'm attaching a screenshot. Thanks

    No Internet in Hyper-V VM's

    Hi, thanks for the reply. I got internet working. I had to create a wifi connection in "Virtual Switch Manager" and then go to the settings for each of my 2 VM's and tell it to use the wifi connection I created. Along the way I had to tell it to "share"
    connection with the Host. One of the VM's has a problem connecting and disconnecting but I will work on that and figure it out. If anyone has this problem try searching the internet and youtube has good videos explaining how to setup Internet in Hyper-V Manager.

    Remote Desktop connection to Hyper-V Android VM

    I have an Android 8 virtual machine running in Hyper-V on Windows 10. However I am unable to get sound working on the Android VM. I have tried absolutely everything I could find on google with no success. Some write ups say I must connect to the VM
    through RDP instead of Hyper-V manager. I have googled how to do that and again tried everything I could find, again with no success. Apparently I must install some kind of RD client on the Android VM. I have tried Microsoft Remote Desktop. It installs on
    the Android, but it does not run. Chrome Remote Desktop does run on the Android, but it does not connect to my host.

    So please, can anyone tell me step by step what I have to do to either get sound working on my Android 8 VM connected through the Hyper-V manager, or to connect to the Android 8 VM through RDP.
