Windows 10: I accidentally created a new microsoft account as I mistyped the email, now I'm logged into...

So I just brought a new laptop and when I logged in to Microsoft I typed in my email to create s new one and just when I thought I did the spelling correct I missed one letter now the email belongs to someone else and I already saved it on my laptop and when I was configuring my laptop, and changed the tpm. It naturally asked me to relogin for security checks but what I didn't notice was that the account email literally belongs to someone else that I have no access to. Now I'm stuck here because I don't have the verification code and my laptop is locked out.

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!

 

How to always log in with my Microsoft account?


I have only one account setup on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro Build 10586.36. That is my Microsoft account with administrator rights. When I boot my laptop the login screen shows my Microsoft account name and a prompt for my password. If I correctly input my password, Windows proceeds to my desktop as normal. However, if I incorrectly (accidentally) mistype my password, instead of stopping and prompting an alert that the password is incorrect, Windows seems to proceed by creating a new (local?) account in the background (i.e. I see a message "preparing desktop".) It then loads the new deskop, which is exactly what I do not want. How do I stop this behaviour? If I mistype my Microsoft password at the login screen, I simply want a prompt to re-enter my password. Note that there is no local account that I myself created.

 

Cannot log in Windows 10- Mistyped email address at set-up

My mother's boyfriend is not computer savvy at all, and he mistyped Comcast (typed in Comcadst.net) in for his email address when he was setting up the new Windows 10 notebook computer he received for Christmas. He and my mom are down visiting for a couple
days and they've asked me for help. I cannot figure out how to bypass the login with the incorrect email account to enter in his correct Microsoft linked account into his computer so he can log in.
