    I accidentally deleted my father's external hard drive and how do I recover it.


    I got curious what format does and formatted the whole external hard disk drive, I was shocked that all the files were deleted and so I started searching youtube and Google on what apps to recover files, I found Filmora Recoverit and used it to recover, I successfully recovered probably only 20+ files, it took 2 days because the files were large. And then after those 2 days I recovered 20+ files that were small, it took 1 day. And then again, I was recovering files and it was a lot and also had a huge size, so I just let it do its thing for maybe 2 days and 3 nights I think maybe more,I forgo

    how to recover external hard drive from windows 10

    I accidentally downloaded windows10 OS to my 1TB external hard drive, it formatted my hard drive and deleted all my important data.
    I have been reading some old thread related to this subject. follow as suggested to used MiniTool to scan the hard drive. the result came out with following. it didn't find missing partition therefore I didn't proceed to select partition then apply to recover.

    ESD-USB (FI accidentally deleted my father's external hard drive and how do I recover it. :) 32.00 GB FAT 32
    unallocated 400+GB

    does it mean that all my data is gone since there is no missing partition found?

    I am running scan with MiniTool Power Data Recover tool as recommended from MiniTool Partition Wizard free. it will take about another 13 hrs to complete the scan.
    any suggestions/input are appreciated

    Hi John,

    We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
    The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
