Windows 10: I accidentally encrypted a large drive with BitLocker and it will take forever to decrypt...

I have a Windows 10 Pro. Yesterday I turned on BitLocker on my 903 Gb used space drive without knowing what it will cost me. The initial encryption process didn't take long, but then when I tried to decrypt it back it took forever. If Microsoft says every 1 minute 500 Mb is decrypted, I will have to wait 30.1 hours I did the math and that's very unacceptable. Most of the stuff on my pc just doesn't respond anymore and freezes because of the decryption process - my browser, file explorer, task manager, control panel, you name it. So if I turn on decryption, it renders my PC unusable. As of

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.

For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'.

Another option is to use software.

Device encryption helps protect your data by encrypting ("scrambling") it. Only someone with the right encryption key (like a password) can decrypt ("unscramble") it.

• Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
• Go to Start, enter encryption, and select
  Change device encryption settings from the list of results.
• Select Manage BitLocker, select Turn on BitLocker, and then follow the instructions.
