Windows 10: I accidentally made my only user on here a guest user and i dont know how to make it back...

When i tried to change my user to owner from admin using netplwiz it for some reason made it a guest user and I dont know how to change it backI got told to go to safe mode but for some reason when i try restart the pc to do so it says "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart" I am not sure how to fix this

Guest User Restriction

Hello.

The problem was not to create a Guest user account. Yet I created an account by the steps mentioned in that guide.

Problem is how the guest/visitor user is able to revoke the restrictions that were put by the administrator account.


I removed all access to the drive for that particular guest user from my admin account. I switch to guest user and its locked. But then without any authentication I am able to change the security settings.

Should this happen? Then how to restrict access to folder/drives for other users?

 

Set up guest user

Hi, I am Van. I'll be glad to assist you today.

To create a guest user account, kindly follow the steps below.

1. Press Windows key + r then type netplwiz then press enter.

2. In the User account window, make sure that the "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer" is checked.

3. Click the Add button, this will open the user account creation Window.

4. Click the "Sign in without a Microsoft account" link, then select Local account.

5. Create the user name and password then click next then click Finish.

6. In the user account list, highlight the newly created account then click properties.

7. Go to the Group Membership tab, select others then click the drop-down menu then select the Guest group.

8. Click Apply then Ok.

Note: When creating the name of the user account. You will not be able to use the "Guest" as the preferred name of the user. Because the "Guest" name is reserved in the system.

To remove the guest account from your start screen, we suggest that you try the following steps:

• Right-click Start menu, then select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Enable guest account first by typing net user guest /active:yes, then press
  Enter.
• Disable guest account by typing net user guest /active:no, then press
  Enter.
• Perform a
  clean boot in Windows.
