Windows 10: I accidentally ran a wrong command on cmd and can’t open any app not even notepad

Hey I recently did a wrong command on cmd and when I restarted my pc I couldn’t open any app. I couldn’t open cmd, internet explorer, notepad, regetid, nothing. The command was assoc .exe=exefiles And I wrote assoc.exe=exefiles Please help me I can’t find anything on the internet

I accidentally made it so that notepad always opens for .frag files.

I accidentally made it so that notepad always opens for .frag files, but when i went to change it by using "Choose default apps by file type" in the settings, i only got two options: Notepad (which i do not want), or search in the Microsoft Store (which has nothing that helps). I have multiple other apps that all appeared when i accidentally clicked to always use notepad, but now they seem to be gone from the list, and its only those two..

I understand that your notepad is not functioning properly after you have accidentally opened a notepad file. Please restart your device and see if the notepad is working again.

If you still have the same, I suggest repairing your Notepad app. Follow the steps below.

Press Win logo key + Q to open the search box and type Notepad> right-click Notepad at the top of the result list > App settings > Repair. Then restart your device.

If the issue still persists, please follow the steps again, and this time choose reset. After resetting, please restart your device again.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
