  2. AMD 8-core CPU is throttled at half speed

    Hi,

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it works.

    1. Press Windows key + R to open run.

    2. Type msconfig and hit Enter.

    3. Go to the boot tab and select advanced options.

    4. Check the box labeled Number of processors.

    5. Pick from the list how many cores you want to run.

    6. Click Ok.

    7. Restart the computer and check if it works.

  3. I have 4 cores but task manager just show 1 core

    Press Windows key + R

    type msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Select the boot tab

    Select advanced options

    Uncheck Number processors

    Click OK

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart when prompted

    Check if the right number of cores now show up in Task Manager.

    Running on 1 core out of 4

    I run an AMD 8150 with 8 cores running 4.5 ghz. I should set it to 1 core? I thought Win 10 would use all my cores, at least better than Win 7 did!
