  2. Wipe and install Win 7

    Confusing.
I assume you mean "not happy" instead of "beyond happy".

At the very least you'll need:
    1. A legitimate W7 install disk and Product Key
    2. KB976932 Service Pack 1
    3. Driver install files
    4. KB3020369 Prerequisite for KB3125574
    5. KB3125574 W7 SP1 Update Rollup (Windows will be updated to April 2016)

    Then follow this tutorial:
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ndows-7-a.html

Once you have successfully installed W7, the updates listed above and the drivers, install a program like Macrium Reflect and create at least 2 Backup System Images (on different external HDDs).
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...e-macrium.html

Once you have created the Backup System Images, you can risk downloading the remaining updates for W7.
I only install the Security-Only updates (and some fixes for them):

    Note:
You'll also need to apply IE and .NET updates separately.

How much space does a Windows Vista Install take?

allthough im not sure i guess about 4gigs for the vista setup,1gb for the system restore (approx) and 1.5 your system memory for the swap file.

if you have (on the same partition or the same disk) i suggest not install the vista there is a fault with the system restore files (if they are on the same disk or partition) so on both os you will have a fault window that says that the restore files are corrupted (then the best is to shut on one of the two os the system restore i suggest on xp) but i don't know if there is a patch for it

I accidentally wiped out all the important system files in disk while installing another Os.

Deleted everything in OS (CI accidentally wiped out all the important system files in disk while installing another Os. :) drive

    Hi

I accidentally cleaned my disk with the OS and recovery partitions on it installing Windows 10 from a USB. I was trying to create a new partition for it to be installed on, and wiped “Disk 0” clean instead of “Disk 1”, which was the USB flash drive. I am trying to recover the OS drive, as there are many important files on it, but I can’t seem to find a solution. I don’t want to reinstall Windows because I won’t be able to recover my lost files, and I cannot spend money on software that can help me recover my OS drive. I have not created a system image file or restore point and have not created a backup of the files and data on my drive before, so I am unable to backup or restore the drive.

Is there any way that I can resolve this issue and restore the drive I accidentally wiped clean? I would be grateful for any help provided.
