Windows 10: I already have 4 partitions and want to Dual-Boot windows 7, so can I???

Hey,Firstly please bare with me I have lot to say. I wanted to Dual-boot my notebook with windows 10 and windows 7, and I just completed the step to create a bootable USB. And when I went to create a partition. I shrank 60gb from D: drive. I was creating a new volume from it that's when this pop-up appeared " The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk to dynamic disk....." and I stopped right there and started searchingSo here are my queries:1 Since I need to have a Dual-Boot so "Is it necessary to have a New volume or will the unallocated volume will work"???2 And even

Partition size for Windows 7 dual boot?

Somewhere I read it should be 16GB... somewhere else I read it should be 10GB... what would you suggest?

Another thing, I never dual booted before so I'm very noob on this - To play all my games on Windows 7 would I have to reinstall them under the new OS? I am assuming so but thought I'd ask just in case.
If yes... then I'd be needing to make my Windows 7 partition at least 50 or 60GB... (I've got 150GB free HDD space on my desktop).

Really appreciate your advice! But, unfortunately, neither of your suggestions re shutdown worked for me.

In answer to your questions:

• What is the make and model of the computer? - Lenovo B570
• What are the troubleshooting steps that you have already performed? - all that I can find on the internet, eg stopping quick resume, powercfg, etc etc etc
• What exactly happens when you try to shut down the laptop? - the power button light stays on, and the fan speed increases
• How exactly are you trying to install Windows 7? - keep Windows 10, reinstall Windows 7 in a new partition for dual boot.

Note: I only have 1 hard disk in my laptop.

You will have to install drivers for Windows 7 since it is a separate installation. It has no difference if it was taking the whole hard disk instead of dual boot.

To summarize the steps for dual boot:

1) Shrink Windows 10 partition to make room for Windows 7
2) Create a new partition on the empty space and format this to NTFS
3) Insert Windows 7 DVD, start setup and select Custom installation (you cannot upgrade Windows 10 anyway since it is later version).
4) When presented with your disk partitions, select the new partition and proceed to install Windows 7
5) Install all drivers starting from the chipset and then graphics.
6) Install any application you will need (remember this is a separate Windows installation).
