Windows 10: I am a BT customer trying to install Norton Virus Protection.

I am a BT cusomer who was requested by BT to delete my Macafee security package which I did and to install Norton Virus Protection instead. My Windows 7 64-bit system is said to be compatible with Norton, but the Norton will not install, whatever I try. I either get an error message inviting me to report to Norton, which I have done but received no response, or a message saying there is another installation at work and to wait until it has finished before trying again, but I cannot find any such installation attempt. I have restarted my PC, deleted files, searched for old Norton files foun

Cannot turn on Virus protection

My virus protection cannot be turned on after the latest update of Windows. There is notice about unexpected error everytime I try to restart Virus protection (In the security center, it said that threat service has stopped and I need to restart). I have
tried many methods suggested in the Internet but none work. And I dont install any other virus-protection progam like Norton or Mcaffe.

never had any problems, norton uses the least amount of memory, has the quickest repsonse times and blocks a higher amount of intrusions than any other anti-virus (been tested).
