Windows 10: I am a network\domain admin at my company but I cant find the setting to get around the...

I am trying to install a program called AxTrax for our keyfob door entry system but I keep getting the "This app has been blocked your system administrator" message during installation.


So far I have tried on multiple machines that are all on the domain/network. I have tried with a standard user account and with the administrator account on all machines with no luck.


This seems like it should be easy to get around but I can't figure it out. Please help!

Domain Admin can't set Desktop Icons

A brand new Win 10 Pro (64-bit) from DELL.
FWIW, BOTH DOMAIN ADMINs and DOMAIN USERS were added to the Local Administrators Group.

I (DOMAIN ADMIN) wanted to add "This PC" and "Network" to the local Desktop.
I couldn't open Themes | "Desktop Icon Settings" to do that.
Win10 threw an error suggesting no rights to do that! Is this CRAZY or not?

So logged in with a DOMAIN USER account and THAT user COULD do it!
What's going on here? I'm starting to get scared of this PC. *Shock

Has anyone seen this behavior before?
Is there a fix?

Is your PC connected to a domain network?

If your are connected to a domain network and yet facing this issue, I would suggest you to try the following steps and check:

Method1:

First, I would suggest you to try switching your User account from a Microsoft account to a local account and check if the issue persists. Click on 'Settings', click on 'Accounts' and then click on "sign in with a local account' in the "your accounts' section.
Restart the computer and switch back to a Microsoft account and check.

If the issue persists, try these steps and check:

• Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
• Click File > Run New Task
• Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• Type Powershell
• Type the following in the Powershell prompt:
  
  $manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest
  
• Close the Powershell window
• Reboot

Try these and let us know the results.

 

Cannot connect to shared drive on company domain network.


At my work, we are upgrading all computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (roughly about 12 computers total). So far 6 of them have been upgraded successfully with not network issues. There is a company domain in place. After upgrading the 7th computer, a Dell Latitude E6410, to windows 10, I cannot access the shared drive on the network. I can connect to the network, see shared printers and any shared workstations, and can even access the internet, but cannot connect to the shared drive. When attempting to do so, the message about missing network protocols come up. I have tried a few suggested fixes but cannot fix the issue.

Any ideas?
