Discus and support I am a novice trying to use visual studio 2019 to make a windows 10 app to extract info... in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I was shocked to see that both photo editor and Microsoft movie editor are not in toolbox apps.     I am a novice trying to use visual studio 2019 to make a windows 10 app to extract info...


    I was shocked to see that both photo editor and Microsoft movie editor are not in toolbox apps. I have searched for hours the Visual studio help file without finding an answer. One item suggested I right mouse button click on the toolbox to add Movie editor and it seemed to work, that is the Movie editor app showed in the toolbox list, though it did appear to be partially greyed. Unfortunately trying to insert the app into my application did not work. I see the frame dotted window of the window while inserting the app, but that is all that happens. It does not show in the code and nothing shows in the designer portion.


    Any idea what I am doing wrong? I am trying to access *.mp4 files to extract some info. Is there an easy way to get these files to show so I can write code to try and extract what I am looking for?


    There are many third party apps that suggest they can work, but how do I know they are legitimate and safe code? Also their explanation is well beyond my novice coding experience.
