I am currently facing bitlocker key issue after update

problem with getting bitlock verification code

I had to get the motherboard on my laptop replaced and this has made it so the laptop is requiring a bitlock code. When I tried to access this bitlock code through the microsoft account, it required verification but has not sent the verification code to my email. How can this be fixed so I can get into my laptop.

I understand that you need to check your BitLocker through your Microsoft account, and you need to use your mailbox to receive the verification code in order to verify your identity information, and your mailbox can't receive the verification code, so you can't check your BitLocker.



The inability of mailbox to receive the verification code may be caused by server instability.

• Please try to send the verification code here after some time.
  
• Please try to send verification code after changing network environment.
  
• Please check whether there is a verification code email in the junk mailbox of your mailbox.
  

If you still can't receive emails in your mailbox. Then you can't check your BitLocker through your Microsoft account. At this point, we can't access the system through regular method. Please try the following steps for a fresh installation.

Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.

1. Prepare a flash driver with at least 8GB (Pay attention to backup data, because creating a boot disk will erase all data of the flash driver). Then operate it on another Windows computer.
   
2. Visit Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) and click "Download Now" to download MCT(Media Creation Tool).
   
3. Run the MCT, select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC”, and then choose Language, Version, Architecture(if you are not sure about these, choose "Use the recommended options for this PC"), then select "USB flash drive" in the "Select Media to Use" interface, then make a boot disk.

Bitlocker recovery key

Hi,



Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



We understand your concern as the PC is locked with BitLocker and you are unable to retrieve the BitLocker Recovery key from your Microsoft account.



In this situation, we would first suggest you to set the PC to default BIOS settings.



If you still get the option for BitLocker recovery key, then we would suggest you to refer the below article for managing the security info on your Microsoft account and later retrieve the recovery key.
