Windows 10: I am experiencing issues with files I am printing to PDF saving as 23 file format.

Over the last couple months, I have been trying to use both Microsoft Print to PDF and Save as PDF functions to print files. It is very inconsistent - about 40% of the time one of them will work, and the others 60% the file saves as a "23 file" format that no one else can access. I work in Google Chrome browser which I need to do for other things I access, and have an Adobe Pro account. What can I do to correct this issue?

• Does the issue only happen to a PDF file?
• Regarding the 0 KB file, were you able to open it?

Can not print a pdf file

Need a couple of questions answered first....

1. Since you're saying "am having this problem with both laptops, one an HP and the other a Lenovo" can I assume the printer is networked?
2. Is the "form that is now in a PDF format" the only document you're having issues with, only PDF files, or any document?

Also (in the vein of not assuming) did you save the file first before attempting to print?

I am having an issue that just started today, very strange and annoying. All of my files are saving in PDF format, no matter the original program or the "Save As" selection. It is still showing up in the file explorer as a PDF. Below are a few steps that I have taken to attempt to resolve the issue. If anyone has any suggestion or insight that may be helpful, I am all ears. Thank you!

• Attempted conversion from the original program and also Adobe - no luck with this.
  
• Attempted to save the file in a different location, both cloud and local. No resolve.
  
• Ran anti-virus to check for anything harmful. Clean scan.
  
• Ran SFC to check for corrupt files. Scan located and repaired files.
  
• Went into the default program settings. No changes were need there.
  
• My pc and all programs are up to date.
  
  Again, any help or suggestion is helpful.
