Discus and support I am faced with USB drive is not accessible, a device which does not exist was specified in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; The way I corrected this issue was to open the HDD's properties, go to the security tab, click on the advanced button, change ownership to yourself,...     The way I corrected this issue was to open the HDD's properties, go to the security tab, click on the advanced button, change ownership to yourself, give yourself full access, click ok, make sure you have full access on the General tab within the properties as well. then tah dah issue is gone forever... ​

    I have tried the steps above, but I didn't find any 'security' tab on my usb drive shown to be me as inaccessible.

    What I have done with my USB drive is:

    1. I I plugged it into a Windows 10 laptop, and copied some files onto it.

    2. I then plugged it into a Windows 7 desktop, and I printed some files.

    3. Whenever I am now plugging it into a Windows 10 laptop, I see this error.

    I have a HP laptop with Windows 10 Pro. I have a Seagate external which I have been using for a few years. But since yesterday, When I tried to open it, the message 'E;/ is not accessible. A device which does not exist was specified’
    came up. I did a bit of research and I ran prompt command and typed in CHKDSK E: /F /R /X’. it said the type of file system is RAW. I tried to open the hard drive It still isn’t working. Now it says 'E;/ is not accessible. The request could be not performed
    because of an I/O device error.’

    A device which does not exist was specified.

    Im installing windows 10 from a bootable USB and in the page where you choose a partition i went to the command prompt. In there i wanted to clean a disk but then it sais. (DiskPart has encountered an error: An device which does not exist was specified.
    See the System Event Log for more information.)

    Anyone know how i could do?
