I'm facing an issue with shortcut menu window of Wi-Fi, Volume and Battery which is located on bottom right corner on taskbar since one month ago. This shortcut menu not responding or unable to click for changing Wi-Fi, adjust volume or Bluetooth connection selection the laptop is on after few minutes. I try the step that other facing, restart file explorer, not working. I need to restart my laptop, then problem will be solved and it is repeat again after few minutes. Is there any permanent solution?Thank you

Shortcut menu of Wifi, Volume and Battery does not open many times from taskbar in windows 11.

I am facing issue with shortcut menu window of Wifi, Volume and Battery which is located on bottom right corner on taskbar. This shortcut menu not responding and display many time. If I restart file explorer or my pc, then problem will be solved. Is there any permanent solution...............

 

"Open file location" opens shortcut location instead of the file location..

I think the title sums up this annoying issue, but I'll elaborate anyway for the sake of clarity:

When I right click on a program in the Start menu and click on "Open file location" it should, by right, open the location of the file, but it never does. It always opens the location of the shortcut instead (For example: C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Program).

It's really annoying when you have to repeat the process twice for absolutely no reason. I mean, nobody ever wants to open the list of start menu shortcuts!

So, is there a way to bypass this silly unnecessary step, and tell windows to open the actual location of the file/program instead of the shortcut?

Or a setting, or a registry hack?

IIRC Windows did this correctly a few years ago.

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Are you using a laptop keyboard or external keyboard?

Adjusting the volume levels using the keyboard shortcuts depends if your device/keyboard supports media keys.

Meanwhile, let's try creating a shortcut key for the Master Volume. Refer to the steps below:

1. Right-click on an empty area on Desktop, then select
New and Shortcut.

2. Copy and paste the location below:

C:\\Windows\System32\SndVol.exe -T 76611119 0

3. Click on Next button and provide a name for the said Shortcut and click Finish.

4. Right-click on it and select Properties.

5. Assigned your desired shortcut key like F11 or F10 by just pressing it in the
Shortcut key area.

6. Click Apply and Click OK to save changes.
