Windows 10: i am getting alt tabbed out of games

I formatted my laptop which is an Alienware 17 r5 on October 2019 and I put windows 10 build 2004. I put nvidia driver version 456.71, I installed steam, I installed Bitdefender internet security and focus assist in windows was enabled. Everything was ok and I never got alt tabbed out of games automatically

I was playing a ps1 game on a ps1 emulator and I was playing death stranding on February 2021. I used a game trainer when I played death stranding and I enabled the enemies can't attack option. Things were okay when enemies detected me and nothing happened

I put nvidia driver version 461.72 on February 26 and after that the alt tab problem started

First I got alt tabbed out of death stranding and the focus jumped to a windows explorer folder which was opened in the background. The issue was not random and it only happened when a certain enemy detected me and the enemy can't attack option was enabled in the trainer and it didn't happen when the enemy can't attack option was disabled

Also when I was playing the ps1 game it froze for like 20 seconds when I moved the character to a new screen and then I got alt tabbed out of the game and the focus jumped to a windows explorer folder which was opened in the background and then game unfroze. The issue only happened once

Next I played just cause 3 and I frequently used to get alt tabbed out of the game and the focus jumped to a windows explorer folder which was opened in the background. Also the game became a bit choppy when I alt tabbed back into the game so I had to exit the game and run it again and it stopped being choppy when I restarted the game

After that I played a few old games and I didn't get alt tabbed out of the games and then I started playing trails of cold steel 4. I played the game for 5 days and all was ok and then the game froze for a bit and then I got alt tabbed out of the game and the focus jumped to a windows explorer folder which was opened in the background

Also sometimes steam is becoming unresponsive and I have to kill the the task for it in the task manager. This happened a couple of times recently and the last time it happened was when I got alt tabbed out trails of cold steel 4. I quit the game and I saw that steam was unresponsive

What is happening to me and why is the focus always jumping to a windows explorer folder when the alt tab happens? If explorer.exe is stealing focus then that means that I could have shell extension which is misbehaving but that's unlikely because my only shell extensions are the winrar options and the scan with Bitdefender option

The only logical explanation is that the new nvidia driver that I put is causing the problem. The problems started after I put nvidia driver version 456.71 and I was using that version for the whole time. Can the nvidia driver make games alt tab by themselves?

Weird alt-tab out of fullscreen games.

• Have you pressed the alt-tab key during you play Rainbow Six Siege? Or it just happen without pressing it?
  
• Does the automatic ALT-TAB behavior happens on other games?
• Do you have any other programs running on your computer while playing?
• What is the anti-virus program you're using?

Moving forward, if you're multitasking while playing, we recommend that you play this game only without doing other tasks. Pressing ALT-TAB or performing a multitasking interferes with the performance of your video card, especially if you're running a heavy
game like Rainbow Six Siege. It will generate screen viewing issues like intermittently switching your game screen between your desktop environment.

For now, restart your game and do not press ALT+TAB while playing. This will allow your video card to dedicate its graphics performance on the game only instead of your desktop environment.

alt + tab not working

Just found a really cool way to make alt+tab INSTANT!!!

In the launch options write the following: -windowed -noborder





This play exactly the same as fullscreen but now you dont have to wait 30 f*@!ing seconds to alt+tab back in!

Also you don't get the little purple/black checkered effect (only in Source games) from alt+tabbing in fullscreen.

In XP, I've found I can't alt-tab in, or out of games. In game, I can Ctrl-esc to get out, then I have to click on the task bar to get back in.
