A couple of months ago my ssd has been causing issues with the files located in it. I mainly store games in there and noticed that no games want to run at all. Steam, when updating games, displayed the message "Corrupt update files" or "Corrupt download files" while other games showed the message "Game file verification failed". The games I had previously downloaded were missing as well.In order to try and fix the issue, I executed - in Administrator: Command Prompt - "chkdsk D: /f /r /x". The scan ran for only one stage and stopped after displaying the messages "An unspecified error occurred

I am getting the messages "An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 1255)." and "An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 1847)." when executing the command "chkdsk D: /f /r /x"

As of, around, two months ago, my external hard drive has been causing issues with the files located in it. I mainly store games in there and noticed that no games want to run at all. Steam, when updating games, displayed the message "Corrupt update files" or "Corrupt download files" while other games showed the message "Game file verification failed". The games I had previously downloaded were missing as well.

In order to try and fix the issue, I executed - in Administrator: Command Prompt - "chkdsk D: /f /r /x". The scan ran for only one stage and stopped after displaying the messages "An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 1255)." and "An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 1847).". After those two messages were displayed, Security and Maintenance gave me a notification saying I have to restart my PC to repair drive errors. Even after restarting the computer, the issues remained and the same error messages came back.

I am unsure of what to do in order to fix these issues.

Hey there, so i've been using my external 1TB hard drive to store steam games and movies, but since 2 weeks ago its been running really slow, so i tried doing a chkdsk and i get the error: An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 12a9). So does anyone

After running chkdsk in /x /r mode from windows 10 powershell at stage 5 the message: Correcting errors in the Master File Table (MFT) mirror.

Insufficient disk space to repair master file table (MFT) mirror.

CHKDSK aborted.

The HDD is an external gpt formatted 6TB. It has been full formatted (took forever) twice and I still get the error. The drive passes all manufacturer utility full S.M.A.R.T. tests with no bad sectors (also took ages).

Is there any way to fix this? The drive is empty.
