Windows 10: I am having problems installing Turbotax .

I am having problems installing Turbotax . I get the RICHED20.DLL error. I tried to follow the above instructions ut must be doing something wrong. Installing TurboTax 2018

When installing TurboTax 2018, I get a Disply box saying:

"Warning 1909. Could not create shortcut TurboTax Canada 2018.Ink. Verify that the destination folder exists and that you can access it". then there is a box with "OK" to be clicked in order to continue. the program then installs and seems to work, except
for the following:

The program is supposed to create this folder and write to it, but it doesn't do it. The shortcut also isn't created and when the program is run, nothing can be saved.

The same thing happened last year when I installed TurboTax, but I forget how I corrected the problem.

Any suggestions?

 

Turbotax 2022 install - Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package (x86) issue

It sounds like you have already tried several troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional steps you can try:

Try downloading and installing the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package directly from the Microsoft website instead of relying on the package bundled with TurboTax.

Make sure your Windows 10 installation is up to date by running Windows Update.

Check that your antivirus software is not blocking the installation of the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package or TurboTax.

Uninstall and reinstall TurboTax.

If all else fails, you can try running TurboTax in compatibility mode. To do this, right-click on the TurboTax executable file, select "Properties", and then click on the "Compatibility" tab. Check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for", select an older version of Windows (such as Windows 7), and then click "Apply" and "OK".

I hope these suggestions help resolve the issue.

 

TurboTax Runtime error

I too have this same problem. Someone on the intuit site suggested uninstalling all previous versions of TurboTax - did that but it did not help. I also did a "repair" on TurboTax 2017 - that did not help either.

It appears there are many of us having this problem. It needs to be fixed!
