Windows 10: I am installing windows 10 on a new computer and the 240gb ssd is only showing up as 128mb...

I have a few inland professionals 240gb ssd that I wasn’t using. I am in the process of selling my old computer to someone I know. So thinking I could put one in as a boot drive for them but in the the windows installer it shows up as a 128mb ssd and I have tried all of the ones I have and had the same problem. I was wondering what I could do to fix the issue

Clean install of 10 on new SSD


I am about to get a new 240Gb SSD and have been advised to clean install Windows 10 on it. This SSD will replace a SATA HDD in my existing computer running Windows 8.1. I know that I qualify for the free upgrade; I have the "Get 10" icon on my task bar.

My first question is, can I get the 10 installation media without buying it and if so, how?

Do I need to upgrade the computer to 10 before replacing the OS hard drive with the new SSD and clean installing?

I'm not very knowledgeable about these processes so I apologize if my language is incorrect. If somebody could give me a step by step process guide to achieve this, I would be most grateful.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
