Pretty much exactly what I posted. I had a bit recovery lockout. When I went to verify my Microsoft account, the backup email associated was outdated, so I updated the backup email with a new one. Microsoft informed me that it will take until 3/28 for my account to verify, which means I will not have access to my bit recovery key until I regain access of my Microsoft account. I cannot be locked out of my laptop for a month, regardless of my personal reasons it's just straight up unconstitutional for y'all to be able to pull this crap. I need to find a way to verify my account, today, so I can

If you are not receiving the verification code, you can try to verify your account through the online account validation process.



Please go to (https://account.live.com/password/reset)
and follow the steps below:

• Enter your Microsoft account and type in the characters you'll see in the pictures and click on Next.
• Click "I can’t use any of these options".
• Enter a working email address where we can contact you and click on Next.
• Fill-up the form and click “Submit”.

In this method, you will be asked to provide a contact email where a link will be sent after you validated your account. I suggest that you provide a working email for you to receive the password reset link.

Also, to answer to your second question, please be informed that you cannot change the Windows Live Id of your Microsoft Account. However, you can add an alias email address to it. Follow the below steps.

• Sign in to the
  Manage your account aliases page.
• Select Add email alias .
• Follow the instructions to create a new Outlook.com email, or add any address that isn’t already a Microsoft account.

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!
