  1. I am lost on how to get rid of this malware.

So earlier this month, I got a malware infection on my computer. I am getting pop-up ads in the form of notifications. They are advertising weight loss, weed, dating sites, clickbait celebrity gossip, etc. Whatever you think of when you think of pop-ups, you name it. I attempted to delete the file by deleting multiple unknown files on my computer and it did not work, then I decided to use Windows Defender to scan it, and 0 threats were found, then I used McAfee which I don't trust but it came pre-installed on my computer so I had to try it as a last resort and it did in fact detect the viruses, but instead of cleaning them out, it said that if I wanted to clean it out I would need to buy McAfee Total Protection, which costs 40 bucks. It didn't even tell me the files to delete so I could delete them manually. I don't want to pay the money, and I don't want to install another software out of fear that it may be another virus or malware of some sort. I don't know what to do and it's looking like the only option is to get a new antivirus because I really don't want to pay 40 bucks to do this. So, as a last resort I have come here to have someone else who may have more knowledege than me to help me. Thanks.

    :)

    Malware removal

There is no malware for Windows Phone. If this is a website saying you have malware, it is lying in an attempt to scam you.

    To get rid of it:

    • Open Internet Explorer
    • Tap the ... in the bottom right corner
    • Choose tabs
    • Tap the ... in the bottom right corner again
    • Choose "close all"
