  1. I am no longer administrator of my own computer?

I am trying to install Unreal Tournament 3 via physical disc onto my Windows 11 gaming computer but each time I try to run the SetupUT3.exe the computer says the action was blocked by the system administrator. The problem is, my computer is brand new, I am the only one who has ever used it, I am the only one to have owned it, I have the only account on the computer, my account shows that I am the system administrator. So why is Microsoft blocking my attempts to install just one program? It did not try and block me when I installed Steam so why is it blocking my disc install?

    :)

  2. Becoming the administrator on my own computer

    Hi Joan,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:yes

    3. Restart the computer and login to the built-in Administrator account.

    4. Delete the account which is not required and make the required account as Administrator.

    5. Sign-out from the built-in administrator account and login to the other account which is made as the Administrator and check for status.

After creating a new Administrator account, disable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:no

Hope the information is helpful. Feel free to write to us for any other assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

  3. Windows 10, Says I'm not the Administrator of my own computer any more.

    Hi Elissa,

Thank you for the update. You may check this article on how to disable OneDrive on your computer. Regarding your "not the Administrator" issue, we suggest that you
enable the built-in administrator account on Windows 10 by running a command in an elevated command prompt. In order to do so, kindly follow these steps:

    • Open Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    • Accept the User Account Control prompt.
    • Enter this command to enable the hidden administrator account:
      net user administrator /active:yes

We would appreciate an update about how it went.

  4. I am no longer administrator of my own computer?

System administrator and You Tube restricted mode

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. Are you using a local account or Microsoft account?
    2. How many user accounts are there on the computer?
    3. Do you have another administrator account on your computer?

I suggest you to refer the following link to Turn Restricted Mode on or off on YouTube - Computer - YouTube Help for YouTube.

If you are having another administrator account on your PC, you can login to the administrator account and provide administrator access to the user account. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    Steps:-

    1. Tap on Windows + R on the keyboard.
    2. Type netplwiz in the run box.
    3. Under the Users tab, click on the
user account and click on properties.
    4. Under Group Membership, select Administrator from the list.
    5. Click on Apply and OK.

    Hope it helps.
