Windows 10: I am no longer getting any sound on my computer either from the computer itself or speakers

Any ideas on how to get my sound back

Thank you for getting back to us. Since you have mentioned that the computer was moved to a different room, we would like to verify if the connections of your computer peripherals (speakers) are connected to the correct ports. If you are using speakers connected
to a USB port, we suggest that you try to plug it in a different USB port.

If the issue persists, you may also try these steps:

• Type Device Manager on Cortana's search field and press
  Enter.
• Under Sound, video and game controllers, select your sound card.
• Open it, select the Driver tab.
• Select Update Driver.

Note: If Windows doesn't find a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow the instructions.

Sound works on computer but stopped working in speakers

It's a desktop and I tried the suggestion to connect the speakers to the front - same result, sound still came from the computer.

Edit: I installed that driver and sound is still coming from computer. I checked to make sure it's set as default.

I got it! Somehow, after installing those drivers, it transferred it from the blue plug in (to plug the speakers in) to the yellow outlet or whatever it's called (on the back of the computer). I don't know why, as it's always been blue, and I tried the yellow and pink days ago and they didn't work. Weird, but at least it's solved. Thank you ever so much.
