I am receiving warnings that my mailbox is nearly full. I am directed to the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2122659. Is this a scam? I am concerned about hitting the link, just in case it is.Gerard Dillon.

Customize Exchange 2013 mailbox size warning message

Hi,

We ran the following command to change the default Exchange 2013 mailbox size warning message.

New-SystemMessage -QuotaMessageType WarningMailbox -Language en -Text "Your mailbox has exceeded the warning limit specified by your email administrator. Please reduce the size of your mailbox."

If we run the Get-SystemMessage we the updated message in the list.

But when the email is sent each night we get the default message.

Your mailbox is becoming too large. The current size is 1027 MB.

Please reduce your mailbox size by deleting items you don't need from your mailbox and emptying your Deleted Items folder.

I'm not sure what step we are missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Before I offer any solution, please let me know the following information:

• What type of mailbox are you using? outlook mailbox or something else?
  
• Can the mailbox that can't receive emails send emails normally?
  
• Is it the client mailbox or the web version mailbox that can't receive emails?
  

If you can receive mails normally by logging into web mailbox, we suggest you to check the settings of client mailbox or add electronic account again.



If the web mailbox can't receive mails, it may be that your email server may have problems. Please contact your email provider for support.



I would appreciate it if you could describe the problem in detail.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys together.
  
• 
  Type dxdiag in the run prompt and hit enter.
  
• 
  Now check for the version of Direct x.
