Windows 10: I am running a PC with windows 11 and I am trying to get my Microsoft Lifecam HD 5000 to...

My Microsoft lifecam HD 5000 camera does not show up in the Device Manager, I have tried plugging it into different USB ports, but to no avail. when I try to detect it in the camera app, the computer cannot find my camera.I have restarted my computer several times to see if that works, but it doesn't. i have tried to reload the original software from the CD, but that is incompatible with this system.

for Windows 10 since its automatically installed on your PC. At the same time, we would like to confirm the following so we can provide additional help:

• Are you downloading the app from the Windows Store?
• Are you getting an error message?
• Have you encountered any issues when using the camera?
• Please provide us a screenshot of the issue.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We have tried to reproduce this issue. Drivers for HD 5000 are not available for Windows 10. So I recommend you to download the drivers and then try to install it in Windows 8 compatibility mode and check if it works.

Follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:

• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 8.1 operating system from the drop down.
• Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

LifeCam HD-5001 Disable Autofocus

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

LifeCam doesn’t have driver for Windows 10. I suggest you to update the LifeCam Driver from the following link and install the driver in the compatibility mode and verify the result.

To install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

a.Place the applications installation file on the Desktop.

b. Right-click on the application, and then click Properties.

c. In the Package Name Properties dialog box, click the
Compatibility tab.

d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 7 with which it is compatible with in the
Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click
OK.
