    Split from this thread.

    Same issue here.

And yes, I did buy a licence.
But I never get to the point where I'm asked for the product key.

I also get the same message at the end of the process:

"The updates are installed but Windows 10 Setup needs to restart for them to work. After it restarts we'll keep going were we left off".
    But then nothing happens.
And I had to record the screen to be able to see the message that is showing like less than a second on screen before the windows closes automatically.

    Any manual installation procedure?

    Thanks,

    :)

    W7 to W10 upgrade

I have tried to upgrade to W10 home premium from my 64-bit W7 home premium operating system on my laptop. I checked that I meet all requirements and have tried everything anyone ever suggested. I wasted 2 days in December 2015, and still failed.

I had no problem in March 2016 upgrading my desktop W7 Ultimate to W10, so I thought I might try again to upgrade my W7 home premium.

I have now wasted another 2 days in March trying to upgrade the laptop. Either it is a problem with my laptop that the Windows Update Trouble-Shooter does not find, or W7 Home Premium (64) will not upgrade to W10. I give up.

Running W10, want to install W7 on separate partition

I'm currently running W10, having taken advantage of the upgrade, but I'm having a few problems with some programs that I've decided was simply better on Windows 7.

I still have my W7 installation media, and so I wanted to put it on a separate partition. I ran the installer, but it failed, and according to

    this
article it's because I need to install the older OS before the newer ones.

So I have a few questions on how to proceed:

    • Do I use my W7 installation media and put it over W10?
      • I imagine doing this will require me to do two more installs, one to put Windows 7 on the intended partition, and another to reinstall Windows 10.

    • Will I need a new product key if I try to reinstall my copy of W7?

    • If I do reinstall W7, will I still be able to upgrade back to W10
I do still have the W10 stuff on the USB, so I'm not sure if that will make a difference or not.

Sorry if this is confusing, but I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can help.

    upgrade W7 to W10

My first question was answered so quickly thought I would try another question

Having problems right now with W7. Will an upgrade to W10 be impacted by issues I am having with W7. Are there any shared files from W7 that remain.
