I am running Windows 11 on brand new Dell XPS 15 9520, crashes several times a day and go to recovery mode.64Gb RAMdual M2 4Tb SSD on RAIDno pattern, just ramdom halt and have to force power off. After get in Recovery mode, then shut shown, back to normal. Occassionally had to do it few times to become normal.

Dell XPS 15 9520 Sleeve Size?

My old laptop was a dell xps 15 9550. Back then bought a 15.6 inch sleeve off amazon and it fit the xps laptop without issue. It seem to be a good fit.


Got a new xps 15 9520 and went to buy a new 15.6 inch sleeve. The sleeve seems too big because after putting the laptop in, you see like 1 inch in space from the top of the sleeve to the top of the new laptop if you look at it horizontally after putting in the laptop. Does that mean it is too big? You are suppose to want a snug fit right but how much is that?

Does this mean I should be buying a 14 inch sleeve as oppose to 15.6 inch because this new xps 15 9520 is even thinner than the old xps 15 9550? And that old xps 15 9550 was already thinner than almost all 15.6 inch laptops from back then? I compared this new xps to a 14.1 inch chromebook and it seem more similar in size.


What is the width, depth and height range I should be looking for with the proper fitting sleeve? Because the sleeve being to big is not good right? It feels too big but I'm not sure if it is suppose to be that way? What are the exterior or interior dimensions I need to be looking at here?


Anyone here could recommend me a specific sleeve for this?

Dell XPS 15 9520 Sleeve Size?

Well the new xps 15 9520 inside this sleeve feels very loose though as you can move it around. So you are saying 2 inches wider and 2 inches taller in height when comparing these sleeve length to the actual dell xps 15 9520 dimensions is fine?


So if it is snug fit, then you cannot put anything in the outside pouch? Wait there are people that put things inside the opening of the sleeve in addition to the laptop? You mean like a charger or what exactly? I thought a laptop sleeve should only have a laptop inside. Seems like you could damage the laptop easier if you put something else as well in the same compartment?

What year macbook air do you have? I want to compare the dimensions of it compared to the sleeve you have.


So others can confirm that there is suppose to be a decent amount of space in the sleeve? Again i thought its suppose to be tight because if the laptop drops, then it being too loose won't protect it as much as tight?

I bought the first one here. It seems way too loose with the xps 15 9520 in it. The reason being the sleeve is 2 inches bigger in both the width and length correct?


The second link tomtoc looks okay but is that too tight? 13.75' whereas as the xps 9520 is 13.56 inch width of the xps? The depth is just about 0.5' bigger. So this would be very snug and tight and not that good?


The third link tomtoc seem mention it is specifically for the xps 15. But it doesn't mention which years. That is 14.06' compared to the 13.56 inch of the xps. The width is about 0.64 inch bigger.

Can anyone give me some advice here? it is frustrating checking amazon and I see people say xps 15 fits good or it doesn't but not knowing what year their xps 15 is because older xps models are a bit bigger. In general, how much bigger should the sleeve be compared to the laptop when looking at the specifications? The 3rd link seem to be advertised directly for the xps 15 but of course this sleeve came out back years ago.


Tomtoc seem like good brand but then I read some reviews that say if you use it, you will get these stains on it because of what is inside? It is circle like and you will get all these marks on the back of the laptop no matter what. Someone did say they can wipe it off but it takes time but another person says you can't remove it?
