Windows 10: i am stuck in standard user when i disable administrator user, help me please....

I'm trying to delete the personal user account connected to the office laptop, when I was looking for how I changed the administrator user to the standard user after that I didn't change it back to the administrator user ...

Stuck as standard user

Hi,

Since your account is recognized as a standard user account, you can follow the steps below to change a user account type on Settings:

• Press Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
• Click on Accounts and select Family & other people.
• Under people, select the user account, and click Change account type.
• Select Administrator from the drop down menu, then click
  OK.

Standard user account created shows Administrator on Windows 10

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Are you logging in using a Microsoft account on any of the created two user accounts?
• Have you created 2 local account with administrative privileges on the computer?

Please be informed that Local user account as well as
Microsoft user account can be considered as Standard user account. A
Standard user account is the user account which do not have any administrative privileges.



It is possible to create two or more accounts with administrative privileges on computers running with Windows 10 operating system.



If you want to convert one of the user account as a standard account, I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Control panel in the search box and select the top most search result.
• Select User Accounts and click on Change account type
  from the window.
• Click on the user account and select Change the Account type option.
• Select Standard and click on Change account type
  button from the window.
• Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Standard User always reverts to Administrator

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you enable built-in administrator and give your son's account administrator privileges.

Follow the steps to enable built-in Administrator.

1. Press Windows key + X, and click on
Command Prompt (Admin). If prompted for an administrative password, kindly provide the password

2. Type "net user administrator /active:yes" and click
Enter.

3. Sign out of your account and sign in to the built-in administrator account.

4. Follow the instructions mentioned above to
Change the Account type.

5. Once the account type is changed, go back to your User account and disable built-in Administrator.

6. Type the following command to disable built-in Admin in Command Prompt: net user administrator /active:no
