Windows 10: I am the administrator but request still need elevation

I'm trying to download a file but it requires elevated access. I already checked that my account has fully permission and when I try to change any permissions I get the same error that I need elevated access.


I've already tries access administrator account but I just get a black screen.

How do I get access to administrator?

Never prompted to elevate privilege as administrator


OK, I tried Dinesh's tutorial. First, here's a list of accounts for my machine:





I held down Shift and rebooted, and got the WinRE splash screen. I was prompted to log in, with "Dan" my only option:





If I clicked on "Don't see your account", I got this:





Is it suggesting that "Dan" is an administrator account? Oh, that it were so... I went back, selected the "Dan" account, and it booted into command prompt. I then attempted the first of Dinesh's instructions:

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to give administrator permissions to the desired folder and check if it helps.

• Right click on the desired folder and select
  Properties.
• Click on Edit button in Properties windows. Click ok to confirm UAC elevation request.
• Select user/group from permission windows or click
  Add to add other user or group.
• Now under Permission section check the rights which you want to grant i.e. check “Full Control” under the “Allow” column to assign full access rights control permissions. (Generally we add ‘Everyone’
  to given permission to all the users on the computer).
• Edit the permission to Full Control for ‘Everyone’.
• Click OK for changes to take effect and click ok again to exit from Properties window.

Windows 7 - The requested operation requires elevation

• I know very little about computers and understand less.
• I used Open Office (4.1.0) for ages without a problem, until for no discernable reason (that I could understand - I certainly didn't operate my PC any differently) I started to get the "requires elevation" message.
• I started to use Libre Office. Again, I used this for a long time without issue, until one day recently I got the "elevation" message - again, not having done anything different.
• After I changed to Libre Office, I used it to open Open Office documents. I am now using Word Pad to open Open Office and Libre Office docs, but it does not support everything, so the settings are sometimes off - out of alignment etc.
• This PC is in my home. I am the only user and therefore I have the only Profile. I am the Administrator. As such I am bemused. Why does the PC that only I ever use think that I need a higher elevation? And a higher elevation than the Administrator??!!
• If anyone has an answer or a suggestion as to what I can do to fix this, please bear in mind that I will need words of one syllable and VERY clear instructions! To be honest, I am not hopeful. I have seen numerous suggested answers in response to this error
  message, and so far they have not worked. That said, I have not seen my particular issue being raised.
