Windows 10: I am the only member of "My Family"; why are apps still making me request parental permission?

Hi, I am a 20 y/o college student with a new-ish laptop HP Windows System with most recent Windows 11 updates. Finally getting around to setting up Spotify on my laptop- except I cannot open the app without a popup saying that I need to request permission for usage. I didn't even know I was apart of a Microsoft Family. This never happened on my old laptop same email account, so I go to the family page settings, and I leave the Microsoft Family.Now, my family is just me. Computer was restarted, Spotify app uninstalled and then reinstalled- but it is still saying that I need to ask for permi

broken "family member needs to sign in"

Parental controls stopped working. Family.Microsoft.com has alert: "Your family member needs to sign in to their Windows 10 device AngLaptop2014 for family features to work.

But the "how to fix this" says

• Select Accounts > Family & other people
• Under Your family, select your family member, then select Allow
• Have your family member sign in with their Microsoft account if asked to

And the steps don't apply. The account is already allowed, and there is no option to change that.

Now what???

 

Microsoft Family Should have more than child and adult family members...

Has anyone noticed that when adding someone to the Microsoft family there is only adult and child as a selection... Wouldnt it make sense for there to also be a teenage selection for those parents who want their teens to have
control of their own settings but still be able to monitor their activity (without the teens needing the parents account info)...

I would make sense and could even be set to switch over from child to teen when the child hits a certain age...the parent could even pick the age...

Why not add it...it would be useful to quite a few people and it just makes sense to have a teen family member option

Ideas and things to take into consideration for a teenager family member option:

• Giving the teen a sense of responsibility by:
  • Allowing control over some settings
  • Option to give a money spending limit or making them able to save the money given to them over certain periods of time in order to buy something
  • ect.
• Addition of a rating limit and automatically asking the parents for permission to buy or watch something that is over the rating limit.
• ect.

This is just an idea I thought of...

If you have any support or aditional idea's for a teen family member option comment them below cause i wanna see if anyone else has ideas that would work with this...

 

Family members request to login

Hello, in my family i have 3 users and 2 of which have the option to request to be able to login to windows. Now i want the third account to have that same option where she asks permission on screen and i get a message in the family app that she wants to login, and for how long.

But i cant find the option to add this in the third account and i cant remember how i did it before.

Please help, thank you!
