Windows 10: i am tired of waiting to use my computer after updates

Microsoft does not own my computer and should not be allowed to download to it without my permission...is there a way to stop all updates from downloading without my permission

In order to assist you further with the issue could you please confirm a couple of things:

• What do you mean by the statement updates are waiting to occur?
• Aren't you able to see the downloads/updates?
• Isn't the updates getting installed on your computer?

Nevertheless, I suggest you to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and check if these helps.
Follow the steps below to do the same:

• Press ‘Windows’ key on the keyboard.
• In the search box, type ‘Troubleshooting’, and press
  enter.
• Click on ‘System and Security' and select
  ‘Windows Update' then click on next to run the troubleshooter.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
