Windows 10: I am trying completely unsuccessfully to get access for a desktop app to use my camera.

I went to Settings - Camera and turned on "Allow desktop apps to access your camera"

Below that is a short list of desktop apps that can access my camera including Zoom and Skype.

My question is how do I add to that list OR how do I get access for a desktop app not listed.

Skype for Business' access to camera

For anyone else having the same problem:
When activating the aforementioned setting you should restart Skype for Business completely. Mine Skype for Business still did not get listed in the lower list, but the camera is now activated.

 

Laptop Camera

settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

• Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
• Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
• From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
• Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.

Desktop app not accessing camera in Windows 10

Thank you Anthony. Just to clarify that I tried the suggestion you mentioned:

1. Go to a site that wants to use your microphone and camera.

When prompted, choose Allow or Block (this option is missing)

1. Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
2. Click Camera or Microphone.

Turn Ask before accessing on or off (when toggling this feature I still am not able to use the camera)

In the windows 10 settings I see some desk top apps that have camera permissions but Chrome is missing.
