Windows 10: I am trying to change my local Windows password and pin. I don't have a "forgot password"...

I have read many discussions and posts to solve this, but nothing works. I have the option to change my local password but not a "forgot password" option to reset it. I don't even have the option to change my PIN. It states "This option is currently unavailable"

Forgot password....

No can't be changed, unless you can access the admin account in safemode.

you can also try ERD commander.

but that is in the case if the password is for OS

if its a bios password you would have to try to reset the bios by using a jumper.
Or getting a master password from the manufacturer

 

Forgot password....

Ultimate boot CD has a nice tool that can reset Windows passwords. Just make sure to clear it, don't try to change it. That often doesn't work.

 

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

  Login in to your Microsoft account.

  Press Windows logo key + X key.

  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.

  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.
