Windows 10: I am trying to install a game and it isnt working help!

I've recently bought an external CD Drive in order to download and play some PC games that I've been wanting to play again for years. I am trying to install 'My Horse and Me' which worked on one of my older computers, but I've seen that some people are able to play it on more modern computers and laptops. I originally managed to install the game and then when I went to run it, I was told it was already installed even though I had already installed it went to the setup screen again asking whether i wanted to uninstall or modify the programme. Things were going wrong after that and different errors occurred so I then uninstalled it. Now when I am attempting to install it again it states there is an error, and that the DLL - gameuxinstallhelper or something like that cannot be run.

I have tried running it as the administrator and that hasn't seemed to help.

Do you know what i can do to reinstall this successfully?

Please try the steps given below and check if the issue persists:

Step 1:

I suggest you to right click on the game and try to run as administrator and check.

Step 2: if that doesn't help I suggest you to install game in compatibility mode and check:

Follow the steps below on how to install game in compatibility mode:

1. Download the game from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the game and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the game install and then check the functionality.

Installing games with Windows Game Pass Missing SSD?

Ive just got the gamepass for windows and am trying to install games onto the SSD drive I use for games. The problem is my Games SSD isnt listed, my other 2 SSDs and a WD Black hard drive are in the list though.

The ssd works and is listed in disk management, but if I got into the windows settings and storage it isnt listed there either.

Can anyone tell em why this is or whats going on please?

Baby steps. Try what I suggested. If that doesnt work do a clean install. If that doesnt work THEN RMA.
