Windows 10: I am trying to run an msi file to install an autocad program solidworks in Windows 10....

Hello,I am trying to install a program on windows 10. When I run the msi file I get C:\Windows\Win32\drivers\etc\hosts permission denied. I have tried to run the file as administrator in command prompt. I have added the registry keys to run as administrator. I have tried to right click on the msi file to give inheritance permission. Nothing works. There is only one user account and it has full administrative rights. Why is this not working? What do I do to get the msi file to complete the wizard installation?**title modified to include the app name**

Windows 10 and AutoCAD products

Yes, AutoCAD is working fine in Windows 10 so far.

If you face any issue while installing, I suggest you to install the setup in compatibility mode and check if it helps. Make sure that you run the setup files as an administrator. Right click Setup and click Run as administrator.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• 
  Right click the set up file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode box.
  
• 
  Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous Operating System, then tap or click OK.

compatiability of windows 10 with Autocad,solidworks,mastercam, catia etc

Dear Sir,

Earlier I was using XP Professional whichwas very good for using Autocad,solidworks,mastercam, catia etc. If I load windows 10( in my new laptop) WILL IT BE COMPATIABLE ? if anyone has faced problems pl.let me know.

  Are you getting any error messages?
  

Make sure that you run the setup files as an administrator. Right click Setup and click Run as administrator. If that does not help install the program in compatibility mode and check.

On my research, I found out that the AutoCAD 2014 is a supported till Windows 8 only. In that case, I would suggest you to contact the AutoCAD support website for further assistance.
