Windows 10: I am trying to scan my computer for corrupted files, but SFC/scannow won't work

My computer has been acting strange lately, and I can't open certain games. For example, a steam game called Squad 44. I get an error every time I attempt to even start the game. I don't know if my computer has been corrupted or I downloaded a bad file, but I've looked up every solution. I try and scan my computer using SFC, yet once it gets to 100%, nothing happens. No further "scanning", just nothing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm not very good with computers. I am on windows 11. I don't know what to do.

SFC scannow not working but verify only is working

there is no problem in chkdsk I've checked When I select command prompt and sfc scannow from f8 and repair.. it shows that a reboot is required for pending repair and pending renames folder in winsxs is full of files.. what should I do??

 

Corrupted files still there after sfc/scannow

• What issues are you facing on the computer, for which you ran the SFC scan?

I would suggest you to try the following steps to repair these files:

a) Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command Prompt (Admin)”.

b) In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

c) Close the command prompt after this step.

Now, restart the computer and check. Please post back your results for further assistance.

Trouble with search bar (won´t find data)

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the search and indexing troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button and click on Control Panel.
• Click on the Indexing Options.
• Click on the Troubleshoot search and indexing.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

Follow the below steps:

• Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
• Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press
  ENTER:

sfc /scannow
