Windows 10: I am trying to uninstall Alcor Micro USB card reader driver, but each time, the item is...

I have tried, several times, to uninstall the App 'Alcor Micro USB Card Reader Driver', but each time, after going through the process for uninstalling, the App still appears in the listing in settings. I am trying to reduce the number of Apps installed, in particular, the ones I do not, nor will ever, use. How do I delete it? Thanks in advance.

The Ghost of Alcor Micro Card Reader notification keeps appearing in the system tray on Windows 10

Original title: The Ghost of Alcor Micro Card Reader

I am running Windows 10 version 1511 x64 on my Desktop PC.

THE PROBLEM: in bottom right taskbar (near clock) there appears this tiny icon with the message “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media -- Alcor Micro
USB 2.0 Card Reader”. This message is there all the time, never goes away, whether any media are plugged in or not.

Alcor Micro USB programs (by AmicoSingLun, dated 1999 and 2014) on my PC USED TO BE associated with an Epson printer I used to own, but that printer has been destroyed and replaced by a Windows 10 compatible Brother printer now connected to my PC (which
does not use ‘Alcor’).

WHAT I HAVE DONE:

1) I have used a program called “Should I Remove It” and followed all steps to uninstall ‘Alcor’. The program ACTED as if it uninstalled ‘Alcor’, but No THAT NASTY ICON IS STILL IN THE TASKBAR.

2) I have use Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs feature to try to uninstall ‘Alcor’. Again … same result … THAT NASTY ICON IS STILL IN THE TASKBAR.

3) Since that Nasty Icon appears right after bootup every day, I have even looked into Task Scheduler’s Startup Tasks to try to find an ‘Alcor’ or ‘Amico’ startup task. There is nothing even close to it.

HELP!: how do I get rid of this fiendish ghost from the past?

 

Alcor micro SD card reader driver not installing

I have hp touchsmart tm2 2102tu tablet pc. it has Alcor micro SD card reader, which windows 10 cannot detect. The driver available at hp website are for windows 7. While installing those I get error message from pc that an administrator is blocking installation.
And nothing happens. I want that device to work for me. What should I do?
