i am trying to update my windows phone from version 8.1 to 10 using the otc update but i encounter an error about http request...

OTC Updater

You first download the operating system of the phone by "Microsoft Device Recovery Tool" to version 8.1 Update 2

Then you offline upgrade it to version 10.0.10586.107 with the program "OTC Updater"

Do the following to use the "OTC Updater" program:

Mobile:

1- The phone is in flight mode

2- Full battery charge

3- Data connection between phone and PC with USB cable

Computer:

1. Microsoft Framework v. 4 software is installed

2- If you still encounter an error while running the "OTC Updater" program

Make these changes to the Windows PC registry:

Before making changes to the Windows PC registry

First get a "system rertore point"

This will help you in restoring the registry

You can simply copy the link to reach the desire place in the regedit and then modify the required value.

Step 1 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v2.0.50727

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 2 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 3 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v2.0.50727

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 4 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

By doing these 4 steps, your problem should be solved

Reset the system and check with "OTC Updater" program

After these changes restart the pc and then check if anything happen. If not then follow further step.

If the error is not fixed

Do these 2 steps

Step 5 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp

Set the DefaultSecureProtocols REG_DWORD value to 800

Step 6 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp

Set the DefaultSecureProtocols REG_DWORD value to 800

After these changes restart the pc.

You will receive the next updates of Windows Mobile 10 online

By checking the update in the menu "phone update"

10.0.15063.297

10.0.15063.1868

 

Windows 8 failure configuring updates and reverting

I agree 8 is awful! It's not for me though... I replaced a broken screen in a Win 8 laptop that was given to me and I am going to give it for free to someone that can't afford one so they can do homework at home. Yes I took it from 8 to 8.1 back on 10/09/2014. This is what I posted there...

1. Step 1 should read to disable AUTOMATIC updates, not disable manual updates.

2. KB2871398 should really read KB2871389

I would like to say that KB2917499 may also be needed as it was in my case. I also had to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter after installing those 2 updates. After these steps I was able to begin my 8.1 download from the Microsoft store. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but I also went into the Bios and disabled "Secure Boot."

Updating windows 10 mobile using otc updater updating Lumia 435 Dual sim

The problem is, the updater is not finish, updater was not starting. On the phone I have still the message: Updates are available, but downloading status 0%

The updates are not downloaded automatically and I can not update the phone via OTC 8.2

When I'm trying to update windows mobile 10 on my Lumia 435 via OTC updater 8.2 The mobile was connected via cable in a flight mode.

When the below message appeared

• An update is in progress. please disconnect the device until the update is complete

So I disconnected my mobile device by removing the cable,
and the below message appeared

• Device was disconnected or is in the process of updating

and nothing has happened after that

I went through the read me file before using the tool. Devices has a retail version of Windows Phone 8.1 and is not part of the Windows Insider Program

Sp I can not update the phone automatically and I can not update the phone via OTC 8.2
