Windows 10: i am unable to access my windows security. when i try to run it, it shows a blank screen...

i am having difficulty accessing my windows defender. whenever i try to use it i keep seeing a blank page. i read different articles on how to fix it but they all involve activating windows security center on my control panel but when i went to check the control panel, the "security center" option wasnt there. i really need your assistance with this issue please.

To clarify :
1) Attempting to open file by clicking on it in the "Recent files" list I get the following:



2) Unable to find file where it is supposed to be located based on the "File location" path:

Mapped network drive shows only blank screen

Umm that is not a blank screen. That is a blank Windows Explorer window. It is showing at the top that there is nothing in that folder. Suggest you try with another device to find out if that folder really does have something in it.
