Windows 10: I am unable to add a Teams link to my outlook calendar invites.

I am unable to add a Teams link to my outlook calendar invites - I have checked out the Microsoft support literature and followed the instructions to enable the Microsoft Teams add-in for outlook, but I cannot locate the Microsoft Teams add-in for outlook. Would appreciate any thoughts on this problem.Thanks.

Replying to calendar invites from Hotmail

I noticed an issue when replying to calendar invites in WP7 secondary hotmail account to an external exchange outlook account. Please see the repro steps below. Is this by design or a some known bug?

• WP7 is setup with a primary live account and secondary account with hotmail.
• A calendar invite was sent from an external exchange outlook account to a WP7 person's secondary hotmail account.
• Person accepted the invite from their hotmail account and sent a response.
• Accepted response was received by the exchange outlook account but the reply is shown from the primary live account name (not the Hotmail account name who actually replied to the invite)

 

Receiving Outlook Calendar Invitations

To what email address are your meeting invitations being delivered? If there is no calendar that is synced to your phone via that account, then meeting invitations will not work the way you want them to work.

After fiddling around with this for the last couple of years, this is what I've reasoned out about how calendar invitations work on windows phone:

On Windows Phone, calendar invitations that are received on the phone can be accepted and a calendar entry will be placed in the calendar
that is associated with that email account.

For instance, I have a live email address. I've set up an account for the live account that syncs my email and the calendar associated with that account to my phone. When I receive and accept calendar invites that are sent to the live email address, an "accept
email" is returned to the sender via my live email address and a new calendar entry is added to the calendar that is associated with my live account.

I also have some POP3 email addresses. I've set up POP3 email accounts on the phone for those email addresses. There is no calendar associated with those accounts so the only thing I am syncing is email. If I receive calendar invites that are sent to my POP3
email address (which have no associated calendar on the phone), I an unable to accept the invites and have them entered on the phone....but I can accept the same calendar invite via Outlook on my desktop, in which case accepted email is returned to the sender
via the POP3 email address and a new calendar entry is added to my personal calendar in Outlook (which is NOT synced to my phone).

 

Receiving Outlook Calendar Invitations

I have seen people having similar problems, but not exactly the same:



I am having the problem of updating my phone's calendar when I receive an invitation on Outlook 2007.



I tried 3 options:

1. IMAP account setup on phone. Email works fine, but when my colleague invites me to a meeting, I only receive it as email on my phone and not as calendar invitation (i.e. no option to accept and calendar not updated).

2. Tried forwarding my email from Outlook 2007 to my Outlook.com account and then sync that to the phone, but Outlook.com does not recognize it either as a calendar invitation.

3. Outlook connector can update/sync my Outlook.com and therefore my phone by sync, but if the pc is off I still do not receive a correct invitation on my phone and update the calendar.



...I hope there's a quick solution or fix for this. My old blackberry bold used to understand any invitation email from gmail or outlook and add them to calendar!
